Addis Ababa, June 3, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopian Embassy in Israel has organized coffee exhibition and culinary diplomacy event aimed to foster the Ethiopian Coffee to Israeli community.
The exhibition held at Empress Taitu Memorial Building in Jerusalem has been attended by representatives of Israeli Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ministries, Mayor of Jerusalem, Members of the diplomatic community, Journalist, members of Ethiopia Friendship Association and guests drawn from various institutions in Israel.
Ethiopian cultural restaurants and Importers of Ethiopian Coffee in Isreal took part in the exhibition, the embassy stated.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Special Envoy of Ethiopia to Israel, Reta Alemu, while delivering a welcoming speech, said the exhibition is mainly aimed at promoting unique features of Ethiopian Coffee to the world.
The event also has other purposes like recognizing and fostering Ethiopian cultural restaurants in Israel, ambassador extraordinary Reta indicated.
Reta said the exhibition was scheduled to be held in a previous timetable and postponed due to restriction of movements and assembly declared in Israel amid coronavirus pandemic.
The Ethiopian diplomatic corps in Israel have tabled presentations showing unique features of Ethiopian Coffee ceremony and related cultural events.
In their presentation, the diplomats of the embassy disclosed that the traditional Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony is an integral part of Ethiopia’s social and cultural life.
Same Coffee Exhibition and Culinary Diplomatic Event was held in Tel Aviv previously in a view to promote unique features of Ethiopian Coffe to the world , penetrate the market in Israel and fostering Ethiopian Traditional cuisine, and attract more tourists to Ethiopia, the Ethiopian Embassy in Israel indicated.
